Chris
CHRIS MARK - VIOLIN

Chris is the Director of Orchestras at Huron High School in Ann Arbor where he also teaches guitar and piano. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education (state certified K-12), from Eastern Michigan University in 2000. Chris is also state certified as an audio engineer from the Recording Institute of Detroit. He started playing the violin at age 6 in the public schools, and is in great demand both as a private instructor and freelance musician. He has performed as a member of the Adrian Symphony and Dearborn Symphony and is a regular member of the pit orchestra at the Croswell Opera House. He has studied privately with Adam Stepniewski (DSO), Mark Lakirovich (AASPA), Prof. Daniel Foster (EMU) and Prof. Gustave Rosseels (U of M). He had the good fortune of being coached by the members of the Arianna String Quartet during their entire residency at EMU, where he served as concertmaster of the EMUSO and was a frequent soloist with the 17th and 18th century-styled Collegium Musicum under the baton of Dr. Anthony Iannaccone, Composer-in-Residence at EMU. Chris is a member of the American String Teachers Association w/National String Orchestra Association, Michigan Education Association, Michigan Schools Band and Orchestra Association, and the American Federation of Musicians-Local 387.

NICHOLAS FIELD - VIOLIN

Nicholas holds a degree in History from the University of Michigan as well as a degree in Violin Performance and a Master's degree in violin performance from Eastern Michigan University. Nicholas served as concertmaster of the EMU symphony orchestra amd was concertmaster and frequent soloist with the Collegium Musicum under the direction of Anthony Iannacconne. As an undergraduate music student he was awarded such distinctions as the Dillman Scholarship and the Pignotti Violin Award. During his more than twenty years of study he has received instruction from such teachers as international soloist Arie Yaacobi and Daniel Foster. Mr. Field has been the Assistant-Concertmaster of the Southfield Symphony Orchestra, and violinist in the Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, he performs frequently on both violin and viola and has received extensive instruction from members of the prize-winning Arianna String Quartet. He became a member of the Huron String Quartet in September 2000. Mr. Field currently resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he is pursuing a Doctorate degree at the University of Michigan.

JESSICA LIPON - VIOLA

Jessica is pursuing a degree in viola performance at Wayne State University where she is currently principal violist. There she studies with DSO violist Caroline Coade. Jessica performs in the Dearborn Symphony, Livonia Symphony, and Southern Great Lakes Symphony. She has also held mentor positions with the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra and Ann Arbor Summer Symphony. In addition to performing, Jessica also maintains a private teaching studio of violin and viola students in the Livonia and Grosse Pointe areas.

PHILLIP WAGNER - CELLO

Phillip Wagner received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University where he studied cello with Dr. Diane Winder, performed as a member of the Undergraduate Honors String Quartet and was principle cellist of both the EMU Symphony Orchestra and the Collegium Musicum ensemble. Mr. Wagner has attended several summer music festivals, including the Green Lake Festival of Music, and the Brevard Music Festival. He has studied chamber music with Daniel Foster, the Arianna String Quartet, the Avalon String Quartet, the Amelia Piano Trio, and Csaba Erdelyi. Phil has performed in many orchestra concerts, and shows, including concerts with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, the Warren Symphony, and a two concert series featuring the Motown legends The Dramatics and the O'Jays. Phil is currently a master's candidate at Bowling Green State University where he Studies with Dr. Alan Smith, plays in the Graduate String Quartet and is principle cellist of the Bowling Green Philharmonia.
